Complete onboarding

Step 4 · Onboarding

Set up TFM inside the app.

You've already installed TFM. Open it and complete these five short onboarding steps. Take your time with the allergy screen — it is safety-critical.

Open TFM and create your account

Your TFM account is separate from your Apple Account. It's what signs you into TFM and saves your information.
  1. Open The Food Maestro.
  2. Select the option to create an account.
  3. Enter the requested account information.
  4. Follow any email-confirmation instructions shown by TFM.
  5. Continue to onboarding.

Tell TFM about your allergies

Select every food allergy that applies to you. If an allergy is not shown, use the option to add it manually.

  1. Review the available allergy choices.
  2. Select every allergy that applies.
  3. Add an allergy manually if it is not listed.
  4. Tap Next.

Choose cuisines and flavors you enjoy

Select the cuisines and flavors you would like TFM to consider when creating meals.
  1. Select all the cuisine or flavor options you enjoy.
  2. Add another preference manually if it is not listed.
  3. Tap Next.

Tell TFM what you dislike

Select foods or ingredients you do not enjoy. TFM will use this information when personalizing suggestions.
  1. Select every listed food or ingredient you dislike.
  2. Add another disliked item manually if it is not listed.
  3. Tap Next.

Warning: Dislikes are not allergies

A dislike is a preference, not a food allergy. Anything safety-critical must be entered in the allergy section above.

Choose your cooking level

Choose the option that best reflects your current cooking experience:

  • Beginner — I am new to cooking.
  • Home Cook — I cook regularly and feel comfortable in the kitchen.
  • Experienced — I am confident with more advanced cooking techniques.

In the TFM app, select your cooking level and complete onboarding. When the TFM home screen appears, return here and tap the button below.

Cooking for more than one person

TFM allows you to select how many people you are cooking for so it can adjust the meal quantity and servings. This does not create separate profiles for those people. The same allergies, preferences, dislikes, and cooking level saved in your TFM profile apply to the meal.
