Get started

Step 1 · Prepare

A quick check before you install.

Take a minute to make sure you have everything you need. If anything is missing or unclear, use the "I need help" button in the corner.

What you'll need

  • A compatible iPhone

Use an iPhone 11 or newer for the TFM pilot. An iPhone 12 or newer is recommended for the best camera and app experience.TFM uses the iPhone camera to photograph grocery receipts, refrigerators, and pantry shelves.

  • A supported version of iOS

Your iPhone must be running iOS 16 or later. If needed, go to Settings → General → Software Update and install the latest iOS version available for your iPhone before beginning.

  • An Apple Account

Apple Account — previously called Apple ID — is the account used with the App Store and TestFlight. It is separate from the TFM account you'll create inside the app.

  • Wi-Fi or a strong cellular signal

    Downloads work best on Wi-Fi.

  • Initial installation and setup: about 30 minutes

This is just the setup. The full pilot runs over about two weeks — you can pause at any step and come back later.

  • Your invitation email

Open your invitation on the same iPhone. That's the easiest way to accept it.

Two different accounts

Please don't mix these up — they do different jobs.

Apple Account

Required for TestFlight

Your Apple ID — the account you use for the App Store. TestFlight and beta installs sign in with this.

TFM account

Used inside The Food Maestro

The account you create inside the TFM app after installing it. This is what personalizes your food intelligence.

Information: This is a beta

Some features are still being polished, and a few known issues are listed on the Known issues page. That's why you're here — your feedback shapes what we fix next.

Warning: Please don't share the invitation

The TestFlight invitation is personal to you and shouldn't be forwarded. If a friend wants to join, ask us — we'll invite them directly.
